5. Tybee Island Beaches
Our favorite section of the Tybee Island beaches is located on the north end of the island. Here, the beach is wide and clean, the opportunity to find shells is great, and the beach is less populated.
In fact North Beach is a popular wedding destination. We love to sit on the beach and get the opportunity to view a wedding or two right on the sand.
Note: Tybee Island Beach is not a pet friendly beach. Leave the dog at home for this one.
South Beach is the most active beach on Tybee. Restaurants, shops, bars, hotels and motels are all just a few steps away from the beach, so whether youre looking to eat out, shop for t-shirts or grab some sunscreen before hitting the beach, South Beach has it all!
6. Savannah River Street
Historic Savannah is just 18 miles away from Tybee Island and is a great day excursion while you are there. This beautiful city has buildings that are hundreds of years old, many of them fully restored to their glory days.
Walking River Street is always a must. There you will find quaint stores, restaurants and much more.
We love the candy shops on River Street. Plenty of candy and handmade Pralines. Free samples too!
And you certainly can’t beat the ambiance of this southern city. Moss covered trees as far as you can see.
Note: Paid parking throughout the week with both metered sites and paid lots. Evenings and Sundays are free.
Love this, thanks for featuring Tybee. Can’t wait to eat at the Crab Shack I heard it’s soooo good. Came across https://visittybee.com/things-to-do while searching for things to do in tybee island – Can’t wait for our trip at the end of the month!
How wheelchair accessible are the ghost tours? How wheelchair accessible are the trolley tours? Are there any accessible beaches, piers? Is Tybee pretty accessible? Savanna and Tybee, very scenic and beautiful !
